Bitwise Operations of Cellular Automaton on Gray-scale Images

Abstract

We had developed a multinomial regression based weighed summation method to recombine binary images for better performance of Cellular Automaton based Image Processing algorithms. We verified our algorithm in the case of denoising Salt and Pepper Noise from Gray Scale Images. In which case, it outperforms the standard Median filtering algorithm in terms of reconstructed Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) between reconstructed and original image.
